Wedding Bliss.

I came across these photo shoots done of wedding gowns and I thought they were somewhat unconventional and eclectic.

Birth Daze.

Last weekend I celebrated my 23rd birthday. A few (7 including myself) of us went to Toronto and stayed in a hotel. We enjoyed the hot tub, sauna, outdoor pool (yes, we’re crazy) and jamming into two double beds. This style of travel has been dubbed by myself and a friend of mine as “refugee style.” It is very cost effective, although I do not recommend it if you value comfort or personal space.

To top off an already awesome night, we dined at Eastern. It was a restaurant we discovered while prowling the streets in search of food. It had low lighting and white couch-like seats. The place quite reminded me of somewhere Lauren Conrad would frequent on “The Hills.”

The food was delicious, the price was right and the mood was exquisite.

I would also like to share a few photos of my family celebration, which took place the following Monday. Do you see the theme? It was not intentional, surprisingly.

Card from my family.

Balloons from my mom.

Ribbons from balloons secured to a little ladybug paperweight.

Flowers on coffee table in full bloom!

Last but not least, a little unicorn that my fiance bought for me! I named him Chuck!

The Curve of Forgotten Things

Lately, I’ve been consumed within a state of mind that I don’t usually delve into. But considering I’m at a point in my life where I can get away with being concerned with the ethereal and insubstantial, I’ve decided to go ahead and allow it. In the spirit of things, I happened upon this video. After watching it a good number of times, I believe Elle Fanning, along with everyone who made this short film, and I are definitely kindred spirits. Watch it here: Elle Fanning: Rodarte’s Muse on

In tune with the ethereal, the song that I can stop listening to lately is Starálfur by Sigur Rós. It’s worth a couple listens.
Honestly, the only thing that’s gonna get me out of this nostalgic, light-headed rut is a shopping trip in Toronto. Any excuse for a good shopping trip.

Oh, and I can’t stop staring at the Hoss Intropia Summer 2011 Collection. These are some of my favourties…

Jo, doesn’t this one remind you of Anne of Green Gables/Road to Avonlea a little bit?

Actually, the whole collection is amazing. Check it out!

Darling It’s Time for Me to Have a Hundred Dresses.

A little over a month ago I was in Toronto shopping, with a mob of guys and my dear co-blogger Cristina. I HAD to make my traditional stop at the Max Azria store. First off, one of the male members of our group (David) suggested a little yellow dress.

Yeah.  Not me whatsoever. It was the dress (most) of the guys seemed to like the best.

I instantly spotted a royal blue dress with fabric draped so perfectly…*sigh*. Despite criticism from the men that the dress looked like a mushroom, I was intent on trying it on because I KNEW it would not let me down. This picture does not even do it justice!

So absolutely fabulous I want to cry.  Why did I not purchase it on the spot? It was if it had my name written all over it.

I then tried on another royal blue dress that had a 50’s feel to it. It was cute, but I was somehow swimming in it due to my “pocket-sized” ( I heard someone describe me that way) frame. Not ALWAYS a good thing.

Very classic. Chic. Cute. I didn’t fit it, so it doesn’t count. On someone else maybe?

Unfortunately I did not purchase anything that day. I need not panic, as I know that Max Azria will have an endless array of new major dresses the next time I drop by…

But, while we’re on the subject, I would like to share a few more that caught my eye. I found them on his website.

Mmm. LBD.

This reminds me of Rome. I would love to find an event I could wear this to…

Christmas party anyone? Please invite me to one sometime in the middle of July. The colour of the dress reminds me of rose petals, and then there are perfect little rosettes all along the bottom!

Anyway, it’s been awhile since I’ve talked directly about fashion. More often it is my counterpart. I HAD to get it out. It was all bottled up inside. Now I may rest.
